My thought sadly is you will be paid for what people are willing to pay and if you are being undercut by people without the same financial commitments you are a bit stuck - you wont get the work and youll earn nothing at all... Its about the scale of economy - with so many aspiring models willing to work for free it makes getting paid 10 times harder...

Example - its cheaper to make cars abroad where the workforce is paid less - therefore we have no car industry in the UK and all the car builders are unemployed...

hi there, i have no problem in getting work, i have done alot of publications for magazines and i am now in the process of doing a calendar for pin up for heroes.. i would never lower my rates i would never steep that low i,m worth more than that..

but their are people out there, who take the piss.. example alot of people have been made reduntant my husband being one of them.. have you looked in the job ad section at all.. these companies want to pay fully qualified people 16 year olds wages.. there taken advantage of the situation..

i know something is better than nothing but when you have kids to look after a mortgage to pay why lower yourself for an under cut job, might as well go on the dole and get it all paid for you..

Sadly everyone is under stress and the rules of running a business is about keeping costs lower. If businesses cant afford to pay the money they cant - they can pay someone 16 year olds wages or go broke and employ no one . They are not taking the piss they are paying the going rate for that job - the going rate is the value at which someone will work for that job not what someone thinks they are worth or what someone used to get paid.

Its tough times for us all I certainly agree.

I hope you husband finds work and you dont have to take the easy option of relying on a state fund which is paid for by the rest of us through our taxes.
